Klang, 18 December 2018
With Christmas just days away, Da Ma Cai once again embarked on its festive charity initiative, the Staff-In-The-Community (SITC) Programme and visited children at Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Cerdik Taman Chi Liung Klang (PJKKICK).
Staff volunteers from Da Ma Cai “play Santa” to children from PJKKICK. The children could not contain their excitement and joy when volunteers arrived at the home with Christmas presents. Volunteers also engaged with the children to get into the holiday spirit through Christmas-themed colouring activity with fun images of Santa, candy canes, Christmas trees, reindeer and much more.
Special Christmas feast was served after the great activity and the children enjoyed their meal with the companionship of volunteers. The day gets livelier for the children as the centre turned into a joyful atmosphere when a mingling clown and face painting artist arrived at the centre to entertain them.
“The children were abandoned by their family in early age, we want them to know that they are loved and cared for,” explained Jude Jasvin Joseph, PJKKICK Founder. He shared that aside from shelter and day care services, the centre also provide home schooling and counselling facilities.
“We also try to create public awareness regarding special care children so that the children can be accepted by the society.” Jude added.
Da Ma Cai spokesperson stated, “This SITC Programme is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative that aims to make the children happy, to eat well and to receive gifts. For this purpose, we have also donated RM7,000 cash voucher for the PJKKICK to purchase groceries and materials for the centre’s daily use.”
“The faces we meet and the stories we hear serve as a great reminder of the importance of bringing hope, compassion and celebration to the children at PJKKICK.”
Founded in 2017, PJKKICK is a centre for special needs, handicapped and disabled children from low-income and rural family. The centre currently cares for 12 children of various disabilities from cerebral palsy, autism, global developmental delay (GDD) to down syndrome.
